Exploring the effects of a new lifter design and ball mill speed on grinding performance and particle behaviour: A comparative analysis

Ball mills are the leading grinding equipment in mineral processing industry. Balls primary component of materials. Lifters lift these balls to shoulder position before cataracts them toe position. Almost all classical theories do not consider lifter's geometry calculating energy consumption ball and focus only on fill level charge, lifter dimensions, their number, mill's rotational speed. To improve performance, a new shape lifters was proposed present research work. Simulation through EDEM software discrete element method (DEM) used predict particle behaviour conduct comparative study influence mill speed torque, power draw, kinetic energy. The validation our results is evaluated by confrontation experimental tests discontinuous with 573 x 160 cm Bian. show that using helical has more significant effect efficiency, draw mill. They decrease wear rate liners when speeds extremely high (90%, 100%).
